Melanin Myths

For this project, I was asked during my sophomore summer to create pieces around a personal topic to submit in exhibits as well as work on my personal creativity throughout that summer. I was assisting my department chair with the Mellon Grant as well.

In this collection, I wanted to express my interest in mythology and fantasy. Thus, I chose to develop pieces that were representative of black culture, whilst also dwelling into classic and non-classic mythical beings.
